Emily Sanders Hopkins is writer, editor, and illustrator whose cartoons have appeared in the New Yorker magazine and other national publications. Hear her conversation with other women cartoonists here.

She is the author of Emily Writes Back, a newsletter selected as a 2022 Substack featured publication.

A book ghostwriter/developmental editor, Emily has worked on several award-winning books, including Tom Jones’s From Willard Straight to Wall Street.

Emily’s long essay “Exotic” appears in the New York Times 2020 notable book Pretty Bitches, an anthology edited by Lizzie Skurnick.

Emily has served as editor, marketing writer, senior editor, and contributing editor at numerous national magazines and online media companies including Women 2.0, We Are Teachers, Scholastic Choices, Ezra, Scholastic Instructor, and the Johns Hopkins University Magazine. She was a fact checker at The New Yorker magazine and later editor and publisher of Ithaha Magazine.
